I guess not really questions for this forum perhaps! I will probably boost laptop to full memory as inexpensive and maybe replace hard drive with 7200 model but not sure if that makes a lot of difference. I was thinking that perhaps replacing the wireless adapter in the laptop might boost the potential connection speed if using wireless. I am looking into having the CLOUD disconnected during broadcasts so we have dedicated connection and possibly a wired connection although it would be a very long Ethernet unfortunately. On testing initially in the venue which uses CLOUD internet access for all its customers I could get about only 1.5MBPS upload speed but that is on a shared connection and wireless connection. I am guessing the most important variable for my purposes is the broadband upload speed I can access not necessarily the laptop spec. Designed for Macintosh, this tool uses a standard method to determine the reading and writing speeds. Hi Mike thanks for confirming I thought that ustream did the processing but wasn't sure if recording on the camera simultaneously might have an effect. Blackmagic Disk Speed Test is a tool for checking the performance of a hard drive. I don't mind upgrading certain parts if it is going to be worthwhile! If its s problem how do I get the speeds up a bit? New faster hard drive, new wireless adapter, max memory or what is best to update? I doubt I can easily change the processor. I am also going to record direct on the camcorder to SD card and then transfer this to laptop later on via USB 2 and edit it using move maker or equivalent software to cut it up and add overlays. I think the ustream software actually records this at their end. My main aim is to use ustream to stream in HD 1080*50i my camcorder takes via ustream producer. Indicates that I can only read or write PAL or NTSC which seems wrong to me. It is showing about 95mbps write and 105mbps read. I have tried this on a folder (as it wont let me access c drive) and it is throwing up results that look way too low to me for a new laptop.
