Lastly, being courageous took me from quietly dreaming to creating the life I want and being the change I want to see in my family and in the world.XENIA MELZER was born and raised in a small village in the south of Bavaria. Practicing this everyday has opened doors and started conversations I’ve never thought possible. Everyday, I strive to be responsible in my actions and impeccable with my word. It has allowed me the space to openly speak my vision aloud, which invited others to support me along my journey. It has allowed me to be honest in areas I needed support, which is helping me to evolve as an artist and woman. I use to think that vulnerability was weakness, but hunni was I wrong. I believe the qualities that are most important to my success are vulnerability, responsibility, and courageousness. If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to? My hope is that this project will support others in their journey to healthier communication and relationships. This book is a love story of how effective communication helped build a healthy and beautiful relationship with my biological mother. Also, I’m excited to announce that I’ll be releasing my first book, “Let’s Talk”, on Jon Amazon. Comedic short film about a couple quarantined together during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, called Stuck (co-star), a one continuous shot- short film based on Kanye West and John Legend’s song, “The Blame Game” (co-star), just to name a few. My work includes recently released web series, Eight Ball (supporting role). I am a storyteller! I tell stories through acting, writing, and creating. Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on? I’ve learned to quiet the noise of others, trust that my journey doesn’t have to mirror anyone else’s and to have faith that my vision is enough. While this industry can be beautiful, it can also be brutal, especially when you believe (or is told) it’s a one size fit all model to achieve success. Another internal challenge has been trusting my process and journey. I had to break away from the ideas of good grades and impressing my teachers and start to fall in love with the process, which included not knowing and being open to discover. However, this didn’t necessarily serve me in my training. For example, I grew up a scholar and an athlete which means I’ve always been competitive and I expect to know the answer. I had to change a lot about the way I was showing up. My biggest challenges on this journey have been more internal than external. But, what I was clear of was that “I am going to have faith every step of the way”. I’m not sure what I expected when I first started on this journey. It has not been a smooth road, nor a straight one. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way? So to simply answer the question “how did I start and how did I get here” my best friend invited me to step into my gift, and when I accepted it, God extended my village, which expanded my vision and capabilities! Don’t judge me!), she was moved by my ability to tell a story. As a result, today I’m clear that Brittany wasn’t impressed by my ability to reenact something I’d seen (Which is what I thought act was. So, I’ve been doing just that creating and supporting other creators. From many of my teachers and mentors at AMDA, I’d heard “you don’t have to wait for a call, you can create”. During that time, I discovered my love for storytelling and writing. I spent a year in the acting conservatory at AMDA learning, networking, and exploring my voice. As a result, I made a plan, enrolled my family/friends in my vision, quit my career, packed up my car, and moved across the country to Los Angeles. Not long after, I decided I was going to live my life instead of simply existing with fear. That one, very entry-level acting class ignited a flame that I’d buried deep inside me. I said yes to something that I had not one clue about. However, my best friend had been working hard to convince me that I “should be somewhere acting” since the day she met me in 10th grade.Īfter two degrees in Clinical Psychology and years of youth development work, I finally said “yes’. Three years ago, my best friend, Brittany Robinson, asked me a question that changed my life, “If I pay for your first acting class, would you go?” Up until that moment, I’d never spoken aloud that I had a dream of being an actress.
